How LabXchange works
This vendor-agnostic electronic order entry system enables the automated capture and verification of patient information at the time a healthcare service or lab test is performed. It then transfers the information through integration into the client’s lab information management system (LIMS). LabXchange can be used for COVID test management as well as your full compendium of tests like point-of-care testing for infectious diseases and newborn screenings and more.
Register people for a test by uploading a roster prior to their arrival or manually entering their information as they arrive. Additionally, they can scan a QR code to register themselves. Their insurance & demographic info can be captured during this process.
At the time the test is performed, securely capture patient info via a scan of a driver’s license or state ID & instantly verify their insurance eligibility if you have opted for that feature. You can then take a photo of their (or their guarantor's) insurance card using the camera on your mobile device.
After the test is performed, the person's information can be submitted electronically to the lab, LIS, or state epidemiology and the specimen container can be barcoded and sent in for testing. The order status can easily be tracked.
Once the lab has finished testing the specimen, the test results can be sent to the patient in realtime via text or email using the PatientXchange solution which is included with LabXchange.
