PLYMOUTH – For many businesses, the pandemic was a challenge to survive. For others, it was an opportunity to grow.
FrontRunner Health Care was one of the latter companies. The Plymouth software developer capitalized on COVID-19 by marketing its programs to healthcare companies and state governments so they could better track patient information during the vaccine rollout.
Now FrontRunner has partnered with a leader in technology-based diagnostic testing to provide improved telehealth services – a fast-growing field today following the limitations of in-person visits by health professionals during the pandemic.
FrontRunner is working with ixlayer of San Francisco to embed their software together to provide a more efficient payment collection and reimbursement system for healthcare providers while offering more transparent billing for patients.
“The pandemic has put many healthcare organizations and professionals in uncharted territory and shined a spotlight on the IT infrastructure upgrades needed to operate in a virtual health environment,” said John Donnelly, FrontRunner president and CEO. “Our integration with ixlayer will deliver an advanced solution that combines operational flexibility, a patient-centric approach and data integrity to support the day-to-day efforts that will enable tele-health services to flourish.”
According to FrontRunner’s Leslie Sullivan, the partnership improves processes for telehealth sessions, where healthcare professionals consult with patients via online visits. The ixlayer platform embedded with FrontRunner software supports online appointments by better capturing patient demographics and insurance information.
“Our embedded software will instantaneously check the patient’s demographic information and verify or fix it if appropriate,” she said. “It will confirm insurance eligibility or flag it if it’s inactive to ensure the most accurate patient insurance information is captured. We are also collaborating with ixlayer to further expand the service for identifying the patient’s financial responsibility.”
FrontRunner offers several software programs to assist with data collection, including COVID-Assist, PatientRemedi and others. Its newest product, LabXchange simplifies the collection of patient information so healthcare staff can focus on giving shots, not processing data.
Located at Cordage Commerce Center, FrontRunnerHC is recognized by Becker’s Healthcare as a “healthcare revenue cycle company to know,” Healthcare Tech Outlook as a “top 10 revenue cycle management solution provider” and Inc. magazine on their list of “America’s fastest-growing private companies.”
